CHILD'S I FOUNDATION

Child's i Foundation Logo

There are over 800 orphanages and 50,000 children living in orphanages in Uganda. Set up by Lucy Buck in 2009, Child's i Foundation believe children should grow up in families, not orphanages. They are currently recruiting and training 85 foster families to provide family based-care for 300 children who would otherwise be placed in orphanages. Since inception, they have worked hard to change perceptions and last May the Children's Act in Uganda was amended to prioritise families over orphanages. Inspired proudly supports Child's i Foundation and their extraordinary work in Africa.

AFFCAD

AFFCAD UK was set up to help the people of Bwaise - the largest and poorest slum in Kampala, Uganda. Their latest project involved driving a mini bus, donated by JAGS (James Allen's Girls' School), from London to Uganda, building new partnerships on the way. Once it has reached the destination of Bwaise/Uganda, the mini bus will serve as a means of transportation for the AFFCAD Ugandan team and the children of Excel Primary School. Inspired are happy to help sponsor the transport of this bus to Uganda and to be supporting such a worthy cause.

Since then, more than £270 million has been raised by Variety in the UK; funding 5,000+ Sunshine Coaches, almost the same number of wheelchairs, thousands of grants to individual children and life-saving support for childrenís hospitals, hospices and youth clubs. Each year tens of thousands of children are taken on great days out by our wonderful Variety Great Days Out team.
